Here's one for your "New Words-Old Songs" category. Actually it's both old words and an old song, so we can only take credit for arranging it. We've used it for VBS and Sunday School the past two years. The kids love it because they can get out in the aisle and do the "chicken dance." They pair-up for the verses, intertwine arms with their partners and spin, reversing on every other line. Warning: save this as the last song before they move on to a new activity or go home--you can't get them back in their seats after this one!

Everybody Ought to Know
(tune: "The Chicken Dance")
arr: Rev. Paul Mai and Mary Ann Hanson

Refrain
Everybody ought to know (Everybody ought to know)
Who Jesus is! (Who Jesus is!)
Everybody ought to know (Everybody ought to know)
Who Jesus is! (Who Jesus is! **clap three times while singing this**)
(repeat)

He's my Savior and he loves me,
Caring for me every day.
He will never, never leave me.
He will guide me all the way.
Refrain

He's my guide and he will lead me
Over any path I go.
He will always go before me;
He's the one you ought to know.
Refrain
